Prof. Daniel Freeman


Daniel is Professor of Clinical Psychology and NIHR Research Professor at the University of Oxford.

Daniel is also a Fellow of the British Psychological Society.

Daniel has been one of the pioneers of the use of virtual reality to understand and treat mental health problems. Having begun working with VR in 2001, he founded and directs the University of Oxford VR lab for mental health disorders. Daniel’s research has been funded by the NHS National Institute of Health Research, the Wellcome Trust, and the UK Medical Research Council. His work is focused on developing the understanding and treatment of mental health disorders, particularly delusions and hallucinations. Daniel has worked on over 15 randomised controlled clinical trials and led the largest ever randomised controlled trial of a psychological treatment for a mental health problem. He is the author of ten books and over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles.

Katie Bedborough

Chief Financial Officer

Katie joined Oxford VR as Chief Financial Officer in February 2018.

Katie has over 15 years of experience working in finance and prior to joining Oxford VR, was a consultant finance director, financial planning & analysis (FP&A) and strategy specialist for games and other technology companies. Katie worked at NaturalMotion Games from 2013 to 2017 as Head of FP&A. During her tenure the organisation was acquired for $0.5bn by Zynga which, at the time, was the largest acquisition of its type.

Katie is a CIMA qualified accountant with an Executive MBA from Oxford University’s Said Business School.

Arvind Tewari

Chief Operating Officer

Arvind joined Oxford VR as Chief Operating Officer in March 2020.

Arvind has over 10 years of strategic, operational and financial experience.

He spent 7 years working for Rothschild & Co. in their global Mergers & Acquisitions team in London, where he advised clients across the Healthcare and Consumer spaces on strategic and financial activity.

Before joining Oxford VR, he then spent 4 years in operationally hands-on private equity where he invested in, and sat on the Board of, numerous businesses, with a focus on driving transformational change to exit.

Arvind has had strong international exposure throughout his career, particularly North America and Asia, and holds a combined Bachelors and Masters in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from the University of Oxford.
